My Qik review of Flixwagon
Qik and Flixwagon are programs available on jailbroken iPhones which allow you to stream live video using the built-in camera. While they may seem to be very similar, there are some distinct differences which should be noted:
Qik
- Works best over WiFi.
- Allows for live chat while you're recording.
- Allows for larger screen resolution.
- Uploads as you record.
- Clean interface.
Cons?
- If you aren't using WiFi, good luck getting a video longer than 8 seconds to upload.
- Have to use website to "register" before you can stream.
Flixwagon
- Works just as well over an Edge network as WiFi.
- Easy to set-up and install.
- Uploads remaining video after you stop streaming.
Cons?
- Has delayed live upload and no chat function on the phone.
- Interface (phone and web) can be clunky.
Here is a video that was recorded using the iPhone 3G using both clients... decide for yourself:

My opinion? Using 3G/Edge, the Flixwagon video, while it takes longer to upload after you're finished streaming, is 100% better than the Qik video which doesn't even upload properly.
I really want to love Qik, but the quality differences make my uninstall decision a piece of cake.
