My new G/F

So as it turns out, I have a new G/F. She arrived on Christmas Eve and her name is Kindle. Well, technically I named her something else (my computer is Juliet, my laptop is Rosaline, and my car is Lucy), but for now, you can refer to her as Kindle.

She wirelessly brings me the morning paper at 5:00am, and I'm reading a brand-new book recommended by my father called "Term Limits" by Vince Flynn. It's of the same vein as any Robert Ludlum book, and I know it's his first book, published in '97, and I know it might be rough around the edges, but I'm giving it a shot anyways.

I've always wanted an eBook reader every since I borrowed one from the Georgia State Library many years ago to read a Robert Ludlum novel. The Kindle is light-weight, slightly hard to hold, but the screen technology is amazing. The pictures do not do it justice... it really is like you're reading words on a piece of parchment. The fact that the wireless cellphone technology is built-in and FREE is just an added bonus. You don't have to hook the Kindle up to any computer in order to download books or read Newsweek. Score!

In other news:

I am going to Medieval Times tomorrow night with John B. and Carly H. I've never been before and it's half-off for dinner and a show. It's basically a jousting contest with knights and kings while you enjoy giant turkey legs with your friends.

Next week I have tickets to see Georgia Tech play in the Peach Bowl at the Georgia Dome on NYE! Oh, yeah!! I used to get free press passes for the Peach Bowl every year, but I haven't talked to that contact in a while, so we were forced to actually PAY for tickets. Can you believe it?

The week after is Dana's birthday celebration at Sapporo. Mike has already said he can't come. I guess he plans out his schedule weeks in advance. I know my Wednesday nights are usually booked solid! Sigh. Anyhoo, these next few weeks should be fun. It's been too long since I've been an active friend to everyone. Time to make up for lost time!
